Tell us about your business:
At Buzz Chic we assist small business (the mom and dadpreneurs) tohave a voice online that is as big as any other business at a price they can afford. We work together with the company to grow theirFacebook, Twitter and Blog followers. Network them and cross promotewith other clients, allowing them to grow their sales, while we takeover the time consuming socializing most companies need to succeed in ntoday’s market.
What inspired you to start your business?
As a mommy blogger I watched my numbers grow and when a friend of mine started her own company, she asked me to come on board and do for her, what I had done for myself. After watching her numbers rise, I thought, why not do for others what I have done for her. After researching Social Media Support companies, I saw how much they were charging and thought that small companies miss out because they don’t have the budget to hire a service. They can’t handle all the businessthemselves and I want to help them succeed.
What has been the biggest challenge in your business and how have you dealt with it?
Growing my own business while while working. There are just not enough hours in the day. Waking up before the kids and getting in a few hours of work makes all the difference. Working around their school schedule
with little windows of time and creating a schedule for every moment of the day is the only thing that works for me at this time.
What would you say has contributed to your business success?
Being social. I love meeting new people, sharing information and jumping into conversations. Wanting to make my client look good makes me look good. I don’t need to glory. When they are successful, I am successful. People first!
What advice would you like to offer to other women/moms who are thinking about starting a business?
Just do it! It is scary, but once you jump in and do it, you will see there are tons of resources out there to help you learn what you need to learn.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of being an entrepreneur?
After being a stay-at-home mom for 7 years, it was nice to finally have a paycheck and taking the pressure off my husband. Buying him a gift without it actually coming out of his checking made me feel really good.
What is your favorite tool/resources you use for your business and why?
Facebook and Twitter are by far my favorite tools. You can reach so many people, find out so much information and being able to link all accounts makes things so much easier. HootSuite is great for this
Is there anything you wish you’d done differently?
I wish I had started earlier. At 45, knowing what I know now, if I had just been braver, I could have DONE this. I was afraid of failure or unsure of my abilities. I was unfair to myself and selling myself short. I should have believed in myself earlier.
